Music Of Coal Book/CD Released - 07.13.2007
The Lonesome Pine Office on Youth announces the release of the two-CD set Music of Coal: Mining Songs from the  Appalachian Coalfields.
Two years in the making, this pair of audio CDs contains 48 songs addressing various aspects of coal mining history and culture, including black lung, unionâ organizing, environmental impacts and the contribution of coal to the national economy. The CDs are accompanied by a richly detailed book of liner notes with striking historical photographs.
Lonesome Pine Office on Youth director Paul Kuczko chose Maggard Sound for the production of new material that was recorded for the project, as well as restoration of material from old masters and editing and mastering of the CD.

Maggard Sound Installs New Console - 04.07.2007
Maggard Sound has upgraded the studio with the addition of an MCI JH600 Series console. The console, purchased through Blevins Audio Exchange was orignally installed in Nashville and most recently used in Austin, TX. After a complete refurbish and approximately 150 man-hours of setup and wiring, the console performed as expected in it's April 7 debut during tracking for the group Shadow Ridge.
The console is 28 inputs, and includes a custom modification to the master section by Larry Blevins of Virginia Mountain Studios. Larry is in demand for his services of equipment repairs and modifications, and is also a designer of high end audio equipment. Alabama "Songs Of Inspiration" Released - 10.24.2006
RCA records today releases the CD "Songs Of Inspiration" from ALABAMA which includes the song "I Am The Man Thomas" that was recorded at Maggard Sound. The CD which was recently featured during a special on the QVC network, sold 35,000 copies during the one hour show. Grab a copy at your local WalMart, or order it HERE

Randy Owen Visits Maggard Recording - 07.18.2006
Maggard Recording Studio was recently visited by RANDY OWEN of Country supergroup ALABAMA, who recorded a track for the groups new Gospel project on RCA records.
Randy recorded the song "I Am The Man Thomas" with local Bluegrass legend DR. RALPH STANLEY AND THE CLINCH MTN BOYS. The project is scheduled for release later this year.

 Studio Upgrade Completed - 07.06.2006
Maggard Recording has just completed a major upgrade and renovation to our control room. Improvements include installation of our Mackie Digital 8Bus console, and a new Pro Tools system for recording, adding to the capabilities and track count of our HDR2496 Hard Disk Recorder.
We have replaced much of the studio wiring and outboard gear, enhancing the already high quality sound our clients have come to expect from Maggard Recording. Our new control room project has also added to the comfort and functionality of the studio.
